Η πρεσβεία των ΗΠΑ στο Ριάντ προειδοποιεί για πιθανές επιθέσεις σε αεροδρόμια της Σαουδικής Αραβίας και αναφέρει ότι οι υπάλληλοι της κυβέρνησης των ΗΠΑ χρειάζονται πλέον ειδική άδεια για να χρησιμοποιούν οποιοδήποτε αεροδρόμιο στο βασίλειο.
Σε προειδοποίηση ασφαλείας που εξέδωσε την Πέμπτη, η πρεσβεία ανέφερε ότι η Γενική Αρχή Πολιτικής Αεροπορίας της Σαουδικής Αραβίας παρέτεινε την αναστολή των λειτουργιών στο Διεθνές Αεροδρόμιο Βασιλιά Χαλίντ στο Ριάντ έως το Σάββατο.
Το Διεθνές Αεροδρόμιο Βασιλιά Αμπντουλαζίζ στην Τζέντα και το Διεθνές Αεροδρόμιο Βασιλιά Φαχντ στη Νταμάμ, όπου έχει την έδρα της η Aramco, λειτουργούσαν με κάποιες καθυστερήσεις και ακυρώσεις, ανέφερε η πρεσβεία.
Προέτρεψε επίσης τους Αμερικανούς πολίτες να «είναι εξαιρετικά προσεκτικοί» εάν χρησιμοποιούν τα αεροδρόμια της Σαουδικής Αραβίας και πρότεινε ως εναλλακτικές λύσεις τα ταξίδια με ιδιωτικό αυτοκίνητο, τρένο ή λεωφορείο.
Ανέφερε ότι τα αεροδρόμια στο Μπαχρέιν, την Ιορδανία, το Ομάν, το Κατάρ και τα Ηνωμένα Αραβικά Εμιράτα παρέμειναν σε λειτουργία.
