Apostolos Vesyropoulos, General Secretary of the Parliamentary Group of New Democracy, former Deputy Finance Minister, and MP elected in Imathia, passed away on Thursday at the age of 59.
A New Democracy source confirmed to Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) that Vesyropoulos suffered a cardiac arrest while in Sithonia, Halkidiki.
Messages of condolences were sent to his family by the prime minister, the president of Greece, ministers, and party leaders, among others, praising him for his devotion to and hard work for the party, his principles, and his goodness as a person.
