A 62-year-old man has been convicted of stalking his former partner by using a drone and a GPS tracker and then physically assaulting her on one of the Sporades islands, a court in Volos ruled.
The man was given an 18-month suspended prison sentence after being found guilty of domestic physical harm and making threats through persistent surveillance.
The court imposed a restraining order requiring him to stay at least 100 meters away from the 43-year-old woman.
According to court findings, the man installed a GPS device on the woman’s car and flew a drone outside her home.
The case culminated last week when he blocked her car on a rural road, assaulted her, and pursued her until police intervened.
The defendant denied all charges.
