Giannis Antetokounmpo poured in 37 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to power Greece past Israel 84-79 on Sunday, sending his team to the quarterfinals of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 tournament.
Greece, coached by Vasilis Spanoulis, will now face Lithuania on Tuesday for a spot in the semifinals.
The Greek team controlled the game from the start, building a nine-point lead by halftime. Israel rallied in the third quarter to cut the deficit to three, but Greece regained control and held on for the victory down the stretch.
Antetokounmpo dominated inside throughout the game.
Veteran guard Kostas Sloukas provided crucial support with 11 points, while key baskets from Alexandros Samontourov and Kostas Papanikolaou helped seal the win in the final period.
