Woman’s Photo, Address Plastered on Defamatory Flyers Across Heraklion Neighborhood, Police Investigate


Police are investigating after a woman’s photograph, full name and home address appeared on flyers distributed across car windshields in the Therissos district of Heraklion, alongside false and defamatory claims about her.

A video captured a man placing envelopes containing the flyers under windshield wipers along a central street in the neighborhood. The material included insulting personal remarks alongside a false accusation that the woman worked as a sex worker.

The woman immediately reported the incident to Greek police and gave a formal statement. Investigators are now reviewing security camera footage from the area, as the flyers were distributed across a wide radius and those involved are believed to have been captured on multiple cameras along their route.

According to cretalive.gr, police have focused their investigation on two men suspected of distributing the flyers throughout the neighborhood.

A woman is also being examined by investigators as a possible person connected to the case.

Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the victim or provided further details on a possible motive behind the campaign.

The incident is being treated as a case of potential defamation and harassment, with Greek police continuing to build their case using the collected video evidence as the investigation proceeds.
